The “Portriat” page is in a state of flux. Just to get started I’ve combined final portraits with works in progress, practice pieces and life drawings. As I add more narrative to the images, I will hopefully give greater perspective on my process and inspire you viewers.
More story to come.
Featured in this gallery is a sequence detailing pencil shading for “Kerry & Shon’s Beagles” Oct. 4, 2019.
This is a practice study – part of my continuing education as a working artist. The pose is from a collection offered for signing up to the ProkoTV.com mailing list. They don’t give out any of the models names, so this sketch is after Proko-Model-Pose-024. ProkoTV is a great resource for learning how to draw people well.
Reaching No. One was displayed at the Seattle Psychoanalytic Society and Institute during their Spring Art Show. This show was only open to the public for one night — Feb 28, 2020. The opening was a joy. Food was delicious, wine flowed and friends of poetry were all around. My favorite poem read that night was a very moving one about Sisyphus by Robert Bergman.
The show lasted until September 2020. This portrait is still available and will be available in the Shop soon.

The opening was so much fun. The wine was lovely, the spread scrumptious with half veggie options. The Poetry reading is part of the Spring show but not the Fall Show. The fall show has live music and is part of the Madison Art walk.
