This demon baby is 4 years old. Time passes differently…down there. Conceived in 1998, Hell’s Cherub had a 24 year long gestation — an experiment. The first, and the last. Now they are fully formed, framed and ready to fly into your heart. Once that happens and you’ve checked for excess bleeding, you’ll have a constant companion, who will look at you with understanding eyes, the fire-light glinting is their deep black orbs…empathizing with the existential dread all people feel at their core, and then coo lovingly and pull at their tiny bat wings.

The painting is acrylic on illustration board. It’s based on a doodle done during a meeting. Meeting doodling is a necessary part of my creative process. Image is 5x3”, with frame 7.5x6.5”.
